Before and after school, during his lunch period, Don donates time to tutoring students who are having problems with algebra, geometry or trig. He works with students from the classes of other teachers or graduates who just can't get that chapter on probability in freshman math 101. When he’s not tutoring, he’s taking interested youngsters step by step through the intricacis of computers. For a big part of the year, he's back at school after hours, leading rehearsals for the high school’s two dramatic productions, projects that take upwards of 300 hours apiece. "If Don received compensation for all the time he put in, he’d be driving around in a new car every year,” Wingfield noted.
