William Myzk, of Colonial Williamsburg, has launched research into the 62 year history of the Virginia Gold Cup Race toward publication of the first book ever written on this classic American steeplechase event.

The full color book, with photos by Warrenton’s Marshall Hawkins and Douglas Lees, is scheduled to be published for the first Gold Cup running at its new Great Meadow course near The Plains in May, 1985.
