Elmer Gore

Elmer Earl Gore, 62, of Boston, died on Wednesday, December 21, 1983, at Culpeper Memorial Hospital.
A native of Estes, Rappahannock County, he was the son of the late Columbus Edward and Bessie Gooch Gore. A retired division director with the U. S. Navy Department, he served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Gladys Ashby Gore; a son, Earl R. Gore of Richmond; two daughters, Mrs. Lynda B. Gubin of Great Falls and Mrs. Deborah S. Thomas of Sterling, and five grandchildren.
Also surviving are three brothers, Richard Gore of Estes, Ennis Gore of Orange and Eddie Gore of Indianhead, Md., and two sisters, Mrs. Marie Utz of Castleton and Mrs. Nina Compton of Manassas.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 23, at Gourdvine Baptist Church by the Rev. James Crane. Burial was in Culpeper Masonic Cemetery.
Geest-Johnson Funeral Home in Culpeper was in charge of arrangements.
