reports a quiet holiday weekend other than two minor fires.
Friday night at about five p.m., Castleton and Amissville companies responded to a fire at a home off Route 622. An electrical baseboard heater had set some clothing on fire, according to deputies. They say damage was not extensive.
Castleton weaver Kim Jacobson said some of her craft equipment was destroyed by the fire, but that the damage was limited to one room.
Chester Gap and Flint Hill companies responded to a chimney fire at the Victoria Jenkins home on Route 522 in Flint Hill, deputies say. Moderate damage was reported in the Saturday night fire.
