On Sunday, July 22, 1984, Duma Leigh Williams and Roger Lynn Jenkins were united in marriage during a 8 o’clock afternoon ceremony at the Pint Assembly of God Church in Front RoyaL
The bride ia the daughter of Hr. and Mrs. George N. (Joe) Williams of Chester Gap. The groom ia the son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Jenkins, Jr. at SperryviDe.
The Rev. William J. Swain performed the double-ring ceremony. Mr. George Dowery was soloist and Mrs. Eva Swain was pianist. During the ceremony Mr. Dowery sang "The Wedding Song", "The Lord’s Prayer”, and "Endless Love”.
Escorted to the altar by her father and given in marriage by her parents, the bride wore a contemporary white taffeta gown with puff sleeves and a sweetheart neckline and a scooped back. The basque waist fell to a cathedral train trimmed and appliqued in alencon lace. The bodice and sleeves were also of alencon lace which was adorned with pearls and irredescents. She wore a wide brimmed hat made of alencon lace which featured reembroidered alencon appliques. Silk lilies accented the side of the crown and were nestled below the brim. The blusher was fashioned of french net and the cathedral length veil was illusion. Her dress was accented with a strand of pearls which was a gift from the groom. She carried a cascading bouquet of peach roses, stephanotis, baby’s breath, and ivy.
