Apple Butter Making Contest The 1984 Virginia Championship Apple Butter Making Contest will be held on Saturday, September 15, at the Winchester Recreation Park in Winchester. The seventh annual contest is held in conjunction with the Rotary Club’s “Apple Harvest Festival” scheduled for September 15th - 16th. The contest is open to any individual or group who makes apple butter. Apple butter must be made on the site and will be judged on Sunday, September 16th. Jenkins Family Reunion The annual reunion for the relatives and friends of the late Luther E. and Ada F. jenkins will be held at the picnic area of Graves Mountain Lodge at Syria on Sunday, August 26 beginning at 10 a.m. Those attending are asked to bring a picnic lunch, which will be served at 1 p.m. Solar Brochures Available The annual Solar Summit will be held at George Mason University in Fairfax on Saturday, September 8.
