Americans pay for their athletes, either by direct contributions to the U.S. Olympic Committee or indirectly, by buying products made by companies which contribute to the USOC. When people buy a Big Mac, a Bud or a pair of Levi’s, they fund corporate sponsors of Olympic athletes and facilities. Why shouldn’t Americans expect a return on their investment?
