Nearly 100 volunteers from many different community groups ran an unusual outing last Friday and Saturday at Camp Hazel River in Boston. Volunteers, young and old called Bingo, paddled canoes, baked cakes, made dozens of sandwiches, baited hooks and created two days of fun for clients of the Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Center.
Joining the folks from the Community Services Center were people, from the Culpeper Mental Health Association, Easter Seals, Virginia Baptist Home, Culpeper Health Care and the Fore Workshop.
Infirmities due to age and disability just didn’t matter for a while as the campers devised ways, sometimes ingenious, to carry on typical summertime activities in spite of difficulties.
