Bob and Phoebe Harper have planted their sloping vineyard with five acres of classic Europen grape varieties. In spite of a temperamental season, Harper reports that the overall effect of the slower-ripening grapes may be an excellent quality wine.
Right now, the Harpers have only Chardonnay to sell, although they offer Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Claret seasonally. They’re open to the public Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 12 noon to 5 p.m. and weekends and holidays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Harpers ask that groups of 10 or more call in advance.
