The Extension office recently received the following information from the National Gardening Association. Local residents may want to consider forming various gardening groups now and applying for the grant or existing groups may want to apply.
“For the fifth consecutive year, the National Gardening Association, promoting gardens for all, will offer grants to assist in program development for new and established gardening projects. Seventy-five youth and school groups and seventy-five senior citizen groups and organizations serving the disabled will be selected from throughout the country.
Grant packages valued at over $500 each of seeds, tools, gardening supplies, programming information and gardening literature will be awarded. All grant winners will be given a one-year membership to the National Gardening Association
