In his speech, Poore expressed his appreciation to the school saying, “Much has been given us.” He went on to say that justice and generosity were the most important qualities a student could possess and that he would, “wage a war of strength and trust.”
The last speech for president was delivered by Larry Tarr, of Warrenton. John Landis, of Front Royal, is his vice-presidential choice joined by candidates Molly Dunning, of Boyce, and Nancy Massie, of Flint Hill, who are running for the offices of treasurer and secretary respectively.
Tarr commented that it was an honor for him to be nominated by his fellow students. He added that he has observed the school’s growth for six years and thus understood the needs of the students.
Tarr said that he could relate to the needs of the students at all levels so that all ages would be fairly represented and that he would be able to convey the concerns of the students to the school’s administration.
