This week was quite the opposite story from what Rappahannock County residents endured during the first part of this month.
Since 0.27 inches of rain fell on Election Day, no rainfall has been recorded by Sperryville Weather Watcher Dennis Wingfield.
That shutdown of Mother Nature’s faucets represent a marked contrast to that since the first day of the month, when 11.11 inches fell. That’s believed to be a record.
The rainfall totals are the heaviest for any one stretch “since I’ve been keeping records, and that’s been 20 years,” Wingfield said.
