The Rappahannock County High School girls’ team finished eighth in the Group A cross country championships Saturday, while the boys placed 13th.
The meet was run at the Piedmont Community College near Charlottesville.
For the girls, the top three runners stayed in a pack.
Karen Ludwick placed 27th, covering the 5,000-meter course in 24:20, some three minutes off the winning pace. Bonnie Grimsley was the second Rappahannock runner to finish, placing 35th in 25:51.5. Kathy Dodson was 41st in 26:17.3. Denise Eidson was 51st in 27:30.7 and Heather Blevins 70th in 28:59.4. Kelly Brown finished 78th in 30:28.3.
As a team, the Rappahannock girls placed eighth in the field of 14 with 200 points. Stonewall Jackson and Strasburg, Bull Run District
