Representative Burr Harrison
returns to the Congress with a complimentary majority over his Republican opponent, J.A. Garber. Rappahannock’s 6-to-l vote for the representative was close behind Harrison’s hometown of Winchester with a 7 1/2-to-l vote for her native son.
Four persons were caught removing apples from the orchards of Wade H. Massie Jr. at Massie’s Comer.
Mr. Massie was able to recover the apples which had been stored. It is estimated that the raiders got 47 bushels Monday night and 27 bushels Tuesday night.
The Parcel Post Sale, held by ladies of the courthouse offices, cleared $40 to go towards the purchase of Venetian blinds for the courthouse offices.
