The one thing Rappahannock High girls varsity basketball players never have to admit is having been denied a postseason victory.

Last week, Rappahannock defeated Brentsville in the preliminary round of the Bull Run District Tournament to break that unenviable streak.

It was the first tournament game win ever for this generation of* basketball players.

However, the winning streak was short-lived. The Panthers fell to tournament-champion Clarke County, 66-41, in the semifinal round Thursday. Clarke routed George Mason in the tournament finals on Saturday and is the Region B top seed in that tournament which began this week. George Mason, the district tournament’s third seed.
