Ruritans to meet

The Amissville Ruritan Club will meet on Nov. 20 at 7:30 p.m. in the Amissville Baptist Church. All members are urged to attend.

Turf Grass Conference

The Third Annual Turf Grass Conference will be held on Nov. 20 at the Northern District 4-H Educational Center near Front Royal. Registration begins at 9 a.m. The program ends at 3:30 p.m. A fee of $6 includes lunch. Send registration fee to the Extension Office by Nov. 18.

No-tillage practice

A program entitled, No-tillage: A Best Management Practice, will be held at the Maryland State Fairgrounds, Timonium, Md. on Dec. 18. There will be a fee of $3 for lunch. Call the Extension Office by Nov. 25 to register.

Stained glass workshop

There will be a stained glass workshop on Nov. 26 at 8 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Library led by Michael Fulton of Warrenton’s Lumiere, a glass art studio. There will be a slide show illustrating the history of stained glass, a description of the craft and a group hands on experience to make a stained glass design that will be raffled off as a door prize to the participants.

County Thanksgiving article

The Extension Office will be writing an article describing how county residents make Thanksgiving a special day. Anyone wishing to share their experiences, humorous stories and ideas, call the Extension Office at 675-3619 from Nov. 15 to Nov. 18.

Christmas Bazaar

The Virginia Baptist Home in Culpeper will have its Christmas Ba&aar on Nov. 23 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Some handmade crafts to be sold include wreaths, pillows, decorations, afghaitef dolll,J ^Otpottfrl - hangings, toys and wooden crafts. Baked goods will also be sold. Proceeds from the sale are designated for renovation of the Culpeper residential buildings and Health Care center.

Teen weekend

A teen weekend will be held at the 4-H Center from Feb. 7-9. More information will be in future issues of the News.

Harvest dinner

A country ham and turkey dinner to benefit Forest Grove Baptist Church will be held at the old Forest Grove school house on Nov. 23 from 5-8 p.m. The menu will include a variety of vegetables, pies, hot rolls, tea and coffee. Carry out service will be available. Prices will be $6.50 for adults and $3 for children under 12. Tickets may be purchased in advance from church members or at the door.
