A shooting Saturday night at Lombardy’s Lunch Room on Rt. 211 in Amissville left one man seriously injured. According to Trooper R. A. Baines, who is handling the investigation, Walter Richard Reid, Rt. 1, Box 143, Castleton, was shot once in the elbow and groin with a shotgun.

Trooper Baines said that an argument with Edward Roach Thompson, Box 203, Amissville, apparently started inside the restaurant and then spilled outside into the parking lot.

“It’s not exactly clear what happened,” Trooper Baines said Tuesday. Although the trooper said that his investigation is still incomplete, he has determined that at some point during the argument Thompson pulled a 12gauge shotgun from a.Chevrolet Blazer parked nearby.
