And Stonewall-Hawthome District turned into a contested election earlier this month when Sharon Kilpatrick challenged the incumbent, Nelson Lane, who is seeking his second term. Mrs. Kilpatrick said that she wanted to give the 669 voters in Stonewall-Hawthorne a choice “besides tearing up their ballot.”
In Piedmont District, which includes the village of Sperryville, Charles K. (Pete) Estes is unopposed for his third term on the board.
Supervisor Hubert S. Gilkey, chairman of the board and unopposed as Wakefield District’s representative, is also seeking his third term.
