ries and remains in fair condition. Thompson was also taken to Fauquier Hospital by the Amissville Rescue Squad and treated for facial injuries apparently received when several of Reid’s friends beat or kicked him after the shooting. He was later released.
Trooper Baines said that his investigation is continuing, and that he expects to have additional information about the incident later. He said that no charges have been filed as a result of the shooting.
Sheriff John Henry Woodward added that the quarrel had apparently begun that evening and was
not the result of any long-standing disagreement between the two men. He said that a third man, Lee Bosserman, 8211 Maplewood Dr., Manassas, was arrested in the parking lot a short time after the shooting and charged with being drunk in public.
Trooper Baines said that the meh involved had been playing pool and drinking at the Lombardy for some time before the incident, and that alcohol apparently played a significant part in the shooting.
