Onions (Continued from Page 10) tablespoons of bacon fat. Toss bread crumbs in fat and reserve. Grease a baking dish and then arrange onions, apples and bacon in alternate layers. Combine stock or water and salt and pour over onions and apples. Cover baking dish and bake at 375 for 30 minutes. Uncover and dot top with reserved bread crumbs. Bake about 15 minutes rrtore before serving. Marinated Onion Salad Makes 4 servings ' 2 large sweet onions 1 tsp. salt 1/2 cup plain yogurt 1 tsp. lemon juice Dash Worcestershire sauce Pepper to taste Dash vinegar, optional Slice onions and separate into rings. Pour boiling water over onions and let stand for 1 minute. Drain and refrigerate in covered container until cold. Combine salt, yogurt, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, pepper and vinegar if used. Toss with chilled onions. Sweet V Sour Sweets Makes 4 servings 4 large sweet onions 1/4 cup cider vinegar 1/2 cup melted butter 1/2 cup boiling water , 1/2 cup brown sugar Slice onions and arrange in 1quart baking dish. Mix vinegar, butter, water and sugar and pour over onions. Bake at 300 degrees 1 hour.
