BLACKSBURG - Agri-Tech '88 will be celebrated by Virginia Tech's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Wednesday to Friday, July 6-8.
During those three days, the college will showcase its research and special projects, according to John Hall, professor of agronomy and Agri-Tech '88 coordinator.
Agricultural groups, including some of the commodity associations, will meet on campus Wednesday, July 6. There also will be commercial exhibits of products, services, and equipment, including large machinery.
“Capitalizing on New Opportunities,” the theme of this year’s program, will be the focus of many events. Seminars July 7 and 8 will discuss such topics as The Future Role of Biotechnology in Animal Agriculture, Why a Livestock Pricing Institute?, DNA and Animal Productivity, and Innovative Sheep Feeding Programs.
