Rappahannock County High School sent students to the state Technology Education Spring Festival and Competition, and they came back winners. Eleven students and teachers Scott Currie and Ron Vickers attended the contest, held in Richmond last month. The students competed in five events, including three team competitions.
Once again, Mr. Vickers and Mr. Currie were pleased with the success of Rappahannock's “Tech Bowl” teams. In an event similar to “It’s Academic,” both the Level I and Level II teams scored early victories on the written test, which ranked the teams according to composite scores.
The Level I team, including eighth graders Mike Campbell, Jesse Reynolds and Michelle Earley, ranked first in the state after the written portion of the competition, which eliminated all ■fiffeut eight teams from the finals, irijesse earned the second highest individual score state-wide.
