Local bluegrass fans who enjoyed the sell-out performance of the Country Gentlemen last year can expect the same energetic top quality show from these veterans this Friday, May 19, at 8 p.m. at the Gay St. Theater in Washington.
The continued popularity of the quartet proves that, like a fine wine, the Gents just improve with age. Thirty years after the band took the stage for the first time, they still draw capacity crowds. Last year they collected honors from the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass for the best band of the year, the best contemporary male singer, and the best rhythmn guitar and bass players.
