Honorary Fire Chief’ in the Apple Blossom firemen’s parade in Winchester recently. She is the 16 year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.W. Timmons and a junior at Rappahannock County High School. The contest was held in the Ward Plaza Theatre. Gail was crowned Sperryville Honorary Fire Chief at the Sperryville Firemen’s carnival last year.

At its May 8 meeting, the
Rappahannock School Board voted “with deep regret" to approve a request from elementary teacher Corina Fountain to be released from her contract for 1979-80 school year. The resignation of Mrs. Fountain, who has been teaching here for 14 years, brings the number of teachers leaving to 22 and gives the county a turn-over rate of 35 percent to date.

meeting, William H. Young was appointed by the Rappahannock Board of Supervisors as a new trustee of the Rappahannock County Library to fill the expired term of Grace Sims who, in turn, became the County Librarian in April.
