Central Telephone Company of Virginia (Centel) has invested more than $400,000 to bring a new, computerized call-switching system to its Washington “675” customers, spokesman Larry Mathiot announced. The new switching system will be placed into service just after midnight on Saturday, May 27.
Roseann G. Wells, Centel’s area manager in Front Royal, said the newr call-switching system will complete Washington customers’ calls quicker and more quietly than they’ve ever experienced before; and will make available Custom Calling features like Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, Speed Calling and Three-Way Calling for the first time.
