the existing school curriculum, Dr. Gangel said, “A lot of it is already in the curriculum, such things as respecting others regardless of race or religion, and the information covered in biology. We will try to infringe on the rest of the instructional program as little as possible.”
Before the curriculum is presented to the School Board for its approval and inclusion into next year’s curriculum, which is the state’s deadline, the public’s opinion is being sought.
There will be a public hearing on the proposed program Tuesday, May 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the high school auditorium. Copies of the curriculum can be reviewed at the two school libraries, the county library and the post offices. Copies may also be purchased from the School Board office for $2.25.
