Rappahannock ranks fourth
among all Virginia counties in wealth per child based on 1977 values of real estate and public service corporations, according to the State Department of Education. Only Surry, Louis and Arlington Counties rate higher. At the same time, out of 95 counties, Rappahannock ranks 85th in total cost per pupil in regular day school and 31st in local per pupil expenditures for school operation.

The Appalachian jazz string
band known as Trapezoid will perform Saturday, April 20 at 8 p.m. in Washington, Virginia’s Gay St. Theater. The band, originally from West Virginia, has recently moved their base of operation to Rappahannock County. This will be Trapezoid’s first concert in the county.
