Circus coming to Washington

Franzen Brothers Circus will be coming to Washington Fire Department grounds on Tuesday, May 15. Show times are 5:30 and 8 p.m. Elephants, lion, tigers, jugglers, aerialists, tumblers and of course clowns will top. Tickets are $4 for children and seniors, $6 for adults and children under two will be admitted free. The circus is sponsored by the Washington Volunteer Fire Department and tickets may be purchased from any member of the department.

Lions Club auction

The Rappahannock Lion’s Club annual benefit auction will be held Saturday, May 12 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Washington fire hall. “Many valuable items have been donated and residents are reminded that all donations will be greatly appreciated,” said an organizer. All are tax deductible. Lions members will be on hand May 11 until 10 p.m. and all day on May 12 to receive your donations.
