Kids are not things to be molded, but people to be unfolded,” will be/the theme quote for Creative Performing Arts Camp, to be held July 1-5 at the Northern Virginia 4H Center. Youth throughout the state, interested in performing are invited to attend this program.
Workshops for the week long program include: Script writing, set design and production, light/sound design, staging & technique, costume design and choreography.
"Performers will be trained in one of the above during morning sessions,” states Terre Stockstill, 4-H Center Program Director, “apply their knowledge in the afternoon, rehearsal in evenings with the culmination being a performance on Thursday evening.”
Teen Camp
It would be nice if you could create your own world, making things the way you want them so that everything runs smoothly. How would you go about planning such a world?
Virginia Cooperative Extension will give teens the opportunity to create their environment as they would like it to be. Teen Camp begins July 8-12, at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal.
“Teens will hear top speakers discussing issues concerning their world today,” said Helen Smith, Rappahannock County 4-H Agent, “politics, economics, law enforcement and relationships.”
Following the sessions, teens will then determine and create their world as they would like it to be. Youth ages 14-19 are eligible to attend this camp.
Cloverbud Camps
Looking for a special camping experience for your child, ages 5-8 years old? Camp Cloverbud is a program designed to introduce kids to the overnight camping experience.
Youth 5-6 years can explore this new adventure for one overnight camp beginning August 10-11. Two camps are being planned for kids 7-8 years with a three days/two nights camping program. The first camp will be held July 15-17, and the second camp is set for July 17-19 at the Northern Virginia 4-H Center in Front Royal.
"Camping is great fun for youngsters and teaches them how to plan ahead,” said Helen Smith, Rappahannock County 4-H Agent,” how to work with others and how to develop a love for the outdoors.”
High Adventure Camp
