Widening and hard surfacing of Route 639 to the Rappahannock County landfill will get under way in mid-May.
Improvements will begin just off U.S. 211 and end at the landfill entrance. Some sections of the road will be relocated to ease curves and lower hills for increased sight distance and improved safety.
Construction should be completed by late summer.
