With one game remaining, the RCHS softball team looks back on a roller-coaster season, but plans to finish on an up-beat note, according to Coach Renee Leake. “It’s been a great week so far.”
The Panthers scored back-toback victories this week over two of the Bull Run District’s toughest teams. They decisively trounced third-place Manassas Park 15-6 on Monday, then followed that with a razor-thin victory over second-place Clarke County on Tuesday, 3-2.
The blow-out victory over the Cougars was “definitely a high point,” according to Coach Leake. The Panther offense was led by Tasha Roy, who went 4-4 on the day while contributing a single, double, triple and home run.
Meanwhile, in the field, freshman Emma Swatman handled seven of the team’s 21 putouts by herself.
