Daylight Savings Time starts
Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend. Early Sunday morning, at 1 a.m. April 7, set your clocks forward to 2 a.m.
Beauty pageant held Saturday
The annual beauty pageant sponsored by the Sperryvilie Rescue Squad will be held at 7:30 p.m. April 6 at Rappahannock High School.
The contest will feature boys and girls ages 2-6 and girls ages 6-21. There will also be a mother-daughter contest.

Bird study course offered
A bird study course will be offered in three one-hour sessions on Mondays starting April 15 from 9 a.m.-10 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. There will also be three three-hour field trips to sites in Rappahannock.
Beginners and advanced students of ornithology are welcome. The group maximum is 15 and a $25 fee will cover the course and the field trips. Call Betsy Thomas to register, 937-5063.
School holds book fair
The Rappahannock Elementary School library will hold its annual spring book fair this week.
The book fair starts Friday, April 5 and ends Thursday, April 11.
