in the past years, she has performed two dances choreographed by Ms. Wyrrick’s D.C.-based Full Circle Dance Company.

“This piece is a collabrative work,” Ms. Read said of the performance. “It stems from work I have done with Ki Theatre. The common thread is storytelling,” she said.

An active member of Ki Theatre since 1988, Ms. Read said even though the dance is based on a story by Elenanor Fargeon, “it is non-linear with dream images. It is not until the end does the viewer know it’s a story. It has many points-of-view, eventhough there is only one on stage.”

The darkness, to set the mood of a dream, and the sound score are very important. Working with her husband, Bob Read of Trapezoid, “we shaped the score for the dance,” Ms. Read said, adding the music is “crucial for the whole production.”

Wearing a straight, sleeveless nightgown, the dancer moves “not in a dance step, but with strong movement and images. It’s as if she is in slow motion,” Ms. Read said.

Broading the stage created by Ms. Read will be Ms. Wyrrick’s “On the Cutting Room Floor,” the third in a series of solo-presentations by the artist.
