Mike and Judy Brown of B&B Service Center in Sperryville have accomplished more than just a move up the street, they’ve opened a whole new automobile service center with new features, new colors and new space.
“Now, we really look like a NAPA Center,” Judy Brown said of the new store, located just beyond the pony farm in Sperryville, west on U.S. 211. “We are the only store to be 100 percent NAPA,” she said with pride in the new building, color coordinated by NAPA representatives who assisted with blue, bluegrey and yellow paint colors and choices.
B&B Service Center offers a fullline of NAPA service parts, and when the move was nearly complete, the owners decided to make the only NAPA dealership in Rappahannock look its part: the light blue-grey exterior can often be a beacon in the night for a distressed driver.
Parts and service for nearly any make of automobile can be ordered or repaired in the service center, and overnight delivery is possible on most parts.
Mike and Judy Brown are familiar faces in Rappahannock’s automotive world. Their service center, once located on U.S. 211, west, just outside the town of Washington, became a common stopping point for many Rappahannock citizens, as well as weekend visitors, as gasoline tanks were refilled, cars were inspected, repairs completed and general maintenance performed.
As the road widening project now underway moved nearer to reality, Mike and Judy found themselves searching for a new location for their growing business.
In November, after months of .renovation and moving, the Browns opened the doors of their new establishment.
“We just happened upon this place,” Mr. Brown said of his decision to purchase the building and lot in Sperryville. “I could envision what I wanted,” he said. < Adding rear garage doors and an addition to the store area were part of Mr. Brown’s vision. Leaving the tall ceilings for use as storage as well as adding storeroom space upstairs were included. The paint added the finishing touch.
