Since their son was a seasoned finish carpenter and Jeff was prepared to handle site development responsibilities, this would give Country Turnkey Properties a broad base.
“That way,” says Mr. Thomasson, “we could offer everything from a kit sale of a one-room log cabin to a tastefully restored country home to a custom-built log or timber frame estate home.”
Mrs. Thomasson is quick to add, “Yes, and everything from bare walls to modestly furnished to linens in the closet and placemats on the table.”
Despite the rich experiences, fond memories, and new-found friends that the bed-and-breakfast business had given them, the Thomassons decided to sell Heritage House in order to concentrate their energies on the “turnkey” business.
The move was made easier by the arrival of A1 and Polly Erickson, who bought the house to continue the bed-and-breakfast.
“It’s like I sold the house to my big sister or best friend,” remarks Mrs. Thomasson. “I just didn’t want to spend all that time developing the business and have it go to just anyone.”
