country clubs in Warren County, at Airlie and Fauquier Country Club in past years. The Old Dominion Hunt is April 6 at Ben Venue, on the Thomas Eastham estate.
“This is the first time the ball has been held in Rappahannock County,” Sheila O’Brien of the School House Restaurant said.
The Morris exhibit opens the annual hunt black tie affair and runs until May 26 with a formal opening of its own, April 28. The April invitational reception is from 2 to 5 p.m.
In order to correspond with the opening with the hunt ball, Mrs. Morris completed the final piece for the show just days before the opening.
“This is the first time I’ve shown at this gallery,” she said, adding she was very excited.
Running for two months, the show is free and open to the public during restaurant hours, noon to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.
From photographers to sculptors, only local artists exhibit in The School House Gallery, which holds 12 shows annually.
This is the fourth show of the season. The gallery, overlooking the budding landscape of the Blue Ridge Mountains, was once the art room.
Ms. Morris was elected president of the Middle Street Gallery, an artists’ cooperative, at the co-op’s meeting two weeks ago. She succeeded Washington artist Tanya Richey. This is her first show since taking the Middle Street reins.
