The Old Dominion Hounds ho)d their annual next point-to-point at noon on Saturday, April 6, when horses run and jump posts-and-rails on the Ben Venue course, just north of U.S. 211 on Route 729.
The day includes nine races, starting with foxhunters’ timber and ending with a race for maidens on the flat.
A rider-opportunity flat race, owner-rider hurdle, ladies’ timber, maiden hurdle, owner-rider timber and open hurdle complete the day.
Topeador returns to the scene over owner-rider timber with Henry Wood to ride against Brian Fitzgerald and Midnight Moves, who crossed the finish first at Warrenton, and Philip Embury on Tan In Summer.
Ladies’ timber will be particularly competitive. Michele Rouse will ride either Casanova winner Nomoniker, her husband’s Diamontaire or Michael Turner’s Sir Fieldmont against three-time winner
