Nash, a SperryviUe resident. She said she has “never shared this work, or any work at this stage, with an audience before. Oh, it’s not that it stops in the middle or anything like that, it’s like a synopsis of a dance at this point. ” ,
Bringing the meaning of the “Exchange” fulj^circle, Ms. Nash said her “dance needs to be expanded upon. For this I need an audience. I need the feedback and their external eye.” She said that from this she gains insight into the dance’s effectivness.
“It started out as a solo,” she said laughing, adding that the piece is performed by six other dancers besides herself. “It’s pretty theatrical,” she said. While it is comic, it’s a very serious matter also.
“It’s autobiographical,” she said of the 15-inute dance that spans six developmental years of her life. “It’s funny, ironic and whimsical but serious.”
With this piece — featuring local dancers Shari Avenias, Kim Doyle, Dafna Laurie, Nan Redick, Nina Stamer, Cathy Kiley, and Ms. Nash — there is no music, yet song. And silence.
“It’s things I remember hearing and how they sound,” Ms. Nash said. ‘These are voices from the past.”
