Mrs. May Belle “Mickey” Stuart was honored at a luncheon last Wednesday, March 27. Amissville Ruritan president Buddy Samuels presented her with the Ruritans’ “Citizen of the Year” award for her contributions to the people gf Amissville. In particular, the Club proudly recognized her donation of nine plus acres (which the Ruritans named “Stuart Field”) to the Amissville Ruritan Club to build a community center and to act as guardians for Little League ball teams.
Mrs. Stuart was pleased to have her brother, Mr. Henry W. Underwood, his wife Mildred and their daughter Judith Hill travel from Maryland for the occasion.
Others attending the luncheon and ceremony included Ruritan vice president Jerry Curtis (who videotaped the event), Ruritan Board of Directors member Robert “B” Settle, Mrs. Frances Semones, Ruritan members Lorraine Early and Cathy Smith, friends from the Baptist Retirement Community Mrs. Rose Bruner, Mrs. Nan Stewart and Miss Annie Laurie Bywaters.

“Can God Heal My Child?” This is the title of a free public lecture to be given by Judith A. Hardy, C.S., of Westport, Conn., at 3 p.m. on Sunday, April 7 in the Warrenton Junior High School. Mrs. Hardy is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
Her talk is sponsored by First Church of Christ, Scientist, Warrenton. Ample parking is available and free child care will be provided.
