At that point the school will be full, since there are no other rooms that could become regular classrooms. By then this year’s fourth grade will be in seventh, and another classroom will be needed for that class, but none will be available.
Dr. Gangel estimated that if sixth and seventh grades were removed to form a middle school with the eighth grade and the school-age population continues to increase at 1.5 percent a year, the elementary school will near capacity sometime between the years 2008 and 2012.
He further calculated that if the fifth grade were also included in a middle school, all three schools would still be under capacity in the year 2015.
