U.S. 211 at the Route 639 intersection when a deer jumped out into his path from the north side of the highway, according to Lt. Jeff Brown of the Rappahannock Sheriffs Office.

The deer did about $1,200 in damage to Denning’s 1987 Chevy, then kept going, said Lt. Brown.

No one was injured and there were no charges placed as a result of the accident.

• Henry Butler, 29, of Rixeyville was charged with possession of marijuana after a traffic stop on U.S. 211 at the Route 729 intersection at 8:50 a.m. Nov. 16, according to Sgt. G.A. Morris of the State Police.

Trooper S.M. Knick stopped Butler then searched his car, finding the suspected marijuana.

• June Clark, 70, of Woodville was operating a 1983 Ford westbound on U.S. 211,1.2 miles west of Route 667, at 2:45 p.m. Nov. 13 when she was involved in an accident, according to Sgt. Morris.

She had slowed to turn left when she was struck from behind by a 1991 Mazda, operated by 32year-old Gary Price of Stanley. The impact pushed the Clark vehicle into a fence on the left side of the road, said Sgt. Morris.

The fence belongs to James Swindler of Sperryville.
