Club members and friends assembled at Chester Gap Thursday evening for the annual Achievement Night program of the county clubs. More than 75 people attended and were welcomed by Mrs. Thomas Leake, president of the Chester Gap Club. Mrs. Hubert Gilkey, of Chester Gap, who is County Chairman, presided over the program. The Amissville Homemakers Club received the award as the “Outstanding Club of the Year” and also took first place in the exhibits. Their display was of pressed flower pictures. Homemade canned goods, candy, cakes, etc. were sold at a silent auction and refreshments were served by the host club.
