Spaghetti dinner
A spaghetti dinner will be held beginning at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 7 at the Flint Hill fire hall. The menu will consist of homemade spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, drinks and dessert. Cost will be $6 for adults and $4 for children 10 and under. The dinner is sponsored by the Flint Hill United Methodist Church and will benefit the organ fund. The Shorb Brothers will also present their Christmas concert at the dinner.
Open House
Culpeper Renaissance and the Downtown Merchants will have a Christmas Open House from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 24. Events include shopping, refreshments and carriage rides in Downtown Culpeper.
Woman's Club to meet
The Rappahannock Woman’s Club will meet at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at the home of Mrs. Bonnie Williams near Flint Hill. Plans for the upcoming March fashion show will be discussed. All members are urged to attend.
Benefit bake sale
The Julia E. Boddie scholarship committee will be sponsoring a bake sale at the home of Mrs. Ethel Bailey beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Interested in classes?
Anyone interested in the possibility of attending classes given by Lord Fairfax Community College in the area of office systems technology is encouraged to call Jeanie Dwyer at 987-9652. If there is enough interest, the classes will be held locally. Class size is limited to approximately 20 people.
Soccer benefit planned
“Pay to Play Day” will be sponsored by the Rappahannock Soccer League beginning at 2 p.m. on Nov. 24. All interested persons 15 and over, non-professional, professional or just plain interested in having an afternoon of fun playing soccer are urged to participate. Fee is $5 per person. The proceeds will go towards an awards banquet for the players. Those interested should call 987-9402 or 937-5483.
Buffet breakfast
The Washington Volunteer Fire Department will sponsor a buffet breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.
Mothering group to meet
The Mothering Cooperative will meet Thursday, Nov. 21 for the monthly mother’s gathering at the Trinity Episcopal Church. A potluck lunch will begin at 11:30 a.m. with a discussion to follow on the reorganization of the Mothering Cooperative for 1992. Members are encouraged to attend. Call 937-3110 for information.
