ber of 1990 we measured 21.23 inches of rainfall,” he said, explaining regular rainfall for these three months is about 10 and one-half inches.
“For the same three months this year, rainfall measures 3.24 inches,” he said.
Last year for the first 11 months to date, the county measured 51.69 inches of rainfall. This year for the same time period the county’s precipitation has reached only 30.10 inches of rain, with the majority of that falling before the hot summer months.
“Since August first, 109 days, we have measured only 4.75 inches of rain,” he said.
By this time in November last year the county had received nearly 23 inches of precipitation.
“With the little bit of rain that fell last week some people think we are on the comeback, but it doesn’t look that way,” said Mr. Wingfield.
Following the lead from low precipitation levels, temperatures for the first 14 days of November have been on the average low.
“We are running about six to seven degrees cooler than normal,” said Mr. Wingfield.
