Three students applied for the individual sweepstakes competition, in which points are awarded for placing in various categories. Welby Lynn won second place for grade eight, Sandeep Ranade tenth for grade nine, Detra Funk sixth for grade twelve.
Kay Larrieu, JCL sponsor and WCDS teacher of Latin and Greek, accompanied the students to the two-day convention.
Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Funk of Front Royal served as chaperones for the trip.
