It is 1991, yet the past clings to him. in his clothes, in the colors. There is war in the Persian Gulf, another one threatening in Lithuania. Russian churches are filling up again. The symbols this boy holds, of war and Christianity, defy reconciliation. His future seems poignantly unreal and unstable.
