Dance at AVFD
The Amissville Volunteer Fire Department will be holding a dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday, April 17 with the band Royal Tones. For reservations call Sheila Scott at 937-4357.
Band needs pianos
The R.C.H.S. Bank is hosting a “Solo and Ensemble Featival” on Saturday, April 17. Hundreds of student musicians from nearby counties will be judged on their instrumental performances. Most of the solos will require piano accompaniment. The school system has three pianos, but an additional two are needed for the event. If the band could borrow your piano, please contact Ms. Whitford at 987-8575.
Participates wanted
Participates are wanted for the Ms. Independence and Little Ms. 4th of July contest sponsored by the Washington Volunteer Fire Department.
Young ladies ages 13-18 are eligible for Ms. Independence. The young lady selling the most tickets will be crowned and will receive a $100 savings bond and second place will receive a $50 savings bond.
Young ladies ages four to 12 will compete for Little Ms. 4th of July. The young lady selling the most tickets will be crowned and will receive a $50 savings bond and second place will receive $25 in cash.
