It all started when I discovered that my left ear was working at about 30 percent and the other one, 60 percent. Actually I should not say that I discoved it because my deficient hearing had been noted and mentioned by several people, several times, for several years. I would always scoff and say, “I can hear anytime I want to!”
I early on realized that it was embarrasssing to always be asking people to repeat themselves so 1 developed a listening manner which was designed to make people think that I could hear as well as the next guyHere
is how it works. Early in a conversation it is important to establish what the subject is and what direction the person speaking is headed. With this information one has then to decide whether to participate actively and really understand what is going on or just appear to be interested.
