Among the many pictures that reward close attention is “Study of Fish”, a colored pencil and graphite drawing. Robin uses restrained color and a mastery' of drawing technique to create a stunning set of images. These are merely homedried fish, but fish here become symbols of eternal beauty and fulfillment.
Throughout this show, Robin’s intention is deeply serious. She looks for meanings to w'hat she has seen and experienced in Russia. I hope enentually she will find the opportunity to build a show on her vision of North American meanings. Her current work is compelling. “Images of Russia” will travel to Washington, D.C. for exhibit at the Mahler Gallery, 406 7th St., N. W., in June.
