My calculator tells me that only comes to $30.44 per ton, so I’m not sure how he arrives at the $77 figure. If he is including the cost of acquiring the landfill in his calculations, I can only agree with Abraham Lincoln who said there were “liars, damn liars and figures.”

The landfill has already been expensed so whether we continued to use it, or haul to Fauquier, that cost will not go awray. And speaking of hauling the trash to Fauquier; by his figures the cost is expected to rise to $55 a ton very shortly, and it is not unreasonable to expect to pay $10 a ton to haul to Fauquier.
